چکیده

Abstract Ascomycetes belonging to the order Sordariales are a well-known reservoir of secondary metabolites with potential beneficial applications. Species ubiquitous, and they commonly found in soils lignicolous, herbicolous, coprophilous habitats. Some their species have been used as model organisms modern fungal biology or were be prolific producers potentially useful metabolites. However, majority sordarialean poorly studied. Traditionally, classification has mainly based on morphology ascomata, ascospores, asexual states, characters that demonstrated homoplastic by taxonomic studies multi-locus phylogeny. Herein, we summarize for first time relevant information about available knowledge biological activities exerted representatives this order, well current outlook opportunities recent advances omic tools could bring discovery order.

Biologically active secondary metabolites from the ascomycete A111-95. 1. Production, isolation and biological activities.

Eight secondary metabolites were isolated from submerged cultures of the ascomycete A111-95 during a search for new nematicidal metabolites. (-)-Galiellalactone (7) and compound 2 are metabolites previously obtained from cultures of Galiella rufa while the compounds 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 (3 and 4 were obtained as an unseparable mixture), were isolated as natural products for the first time. Compo...

Sarcodon Mushrooms: Biologically Active Metabolites

Thelephorales Corn ex. Oberw. belong to the Agaricomycetes (Basidiomycota, Fungi) and comprise more than 177 species (Kirk et al., 2008) that are classified into two families: the Bankeraceae Donk (mostly with colourless basidiospores) and the Thelephoraceae Chevall. (mostly with brown to yellowish basidiospores) (Yorou & Agerer, 2007). Bankeraceae are characterized by a typical fenugreek odour...

Biologically active metabolites of Penicillium fungi

Penicillia are some of the most widespread hyphomycetes among microscopic fungi. Their natural habitats are soils of northern latitudes. They are known as producers of various types of biologically active compounds such as ergot alkaloids, diketopiperazines, quinolines, quinazolines and polyketides [1]. Penicillium fungi synthesize clavine ergot alkaloids whose structural specificity is that th...

Biologically Active Metabolites Synthesized by Microalgae

Microalgae are microorganisms that have different morphological, physiological, and genetic traits that confer the ability to produce different biologically active metabolites. Microalgal biotechnology has become a subject of study for various fields, due to the varied bioproducts that can be obtained from these microorganisms. When microalgal cultivation processes are better understood, microa...
